Office for Assets Recovery

The Office for Assets Recovery was established within the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor and is headed by a prosecutor of the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor. This Office provides assistance and advice in assets tracing, cooperation with financial institutions, forensic accounting and international cooperation to achieve the objectives of case prosecutors for the recovery of assets acquired through criminal offences.

The Office for Assets Recovery serves to provide assistance, at the request of the case prosecutors, in relation to investigative actions regarding the tracing and identification of assets, including assets in foreign countries or assets of foreign countries located in Kosovo, with ultimate goal of recovering these assets. The office provides assistance to case prosecutors in the process of tracing assets through the collection of intelligence and evidence; freezing, seizure and confiscation of assets; international cooperation; judicial procedures; execution of orders and recovery of assets.
