Dear Colleagues,
It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the passing of the former Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Ismet Kabashi.
He was a prominent figure in our country’s justice system, serving as one of the key leaders of the State Prosecutor’s institution following the declaration of the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, during a time when, as a result of justice reforms, the new institutions of judicial power were being established.
Throughout his service in the prosecutorial system—initially as a prosecutor and later as Chief State Prosecutor and Chair of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council—he stood out for his professional integrity, his dedication to strengthening the rule of law, and his valuable contribution to the consolidation of the State Prosecutor’s institution.
His departure leaves a significant void, not only for his family and loved ones, but also for all those who had the privilege to know him and work alongside him.
In these painful moments, on behalf of myself and the institution of the State Prosecutor, I extend my most sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all colleagues of Mr. Kabashi.
