Prishtina, 28 April 2025 – The Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Besim Kelmendi, held the regular collegium meeting with the Chief Prosecutors and representatives of all prosecution offices of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as prosecutors from the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor.
The meeting placed particular emphasis on increasing efficiency in the seizure and confiscation of illegally acquired assets, as well as the sale of such assets in accordance with legal provisions.
Mr. Kelmendi also discussed with the Chief Prosecutors the issue of filing indictments without first interviewing the defendant.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of the Instruction concerning narcotics cases, during which each Chief Prosecutor reported on the actions taken in relation to this matter.
In conclusion, the need to improve the effectiveness of prosecution offices in their periodic and annual reporting was underscored.
