Acting Chief State Prosecutor Participates in the International Conference “Towards the EU – Strengthening Integrity and Independence of Criminal Justice in the Western Balkans”

Ljubljana, March 10, 2025 – At the invitation of the Ministry of Justice of Slovenia and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, the Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Besim Kelmendi, is participating in the international conference “Towards the EU – Strengthening Integrity and Independence of Criminal Justice in the Western Balkans,” taking place in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

This conference has brought together justice sector leaders from the Western Balkans and beyond, law enforcement agencies, international and regional organizations, as well as civil society representatives to discuss common priorities and challenges in the area of rule of law. The focus lies on reinforcing a culture of institutional integrity, enhancing regional and international cooperation in preventing and combating all forms of corruption and organized crime, and exchanging best practices in the field of criminal justice.

Alongside Acting Chief State Prosecutor Mr. Besim Kelmendi, the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo also includes the President of the Supreme Court, the Minister of Justice, the Director of the Police, and the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency.
