Acting Chief State Prosecutor Calls for Efficiency in Handling Criminal Reports

Prishtina, March 28, 2025 – The Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Besim Kelmendi, held the regular collegium meeting with Chief Prosecutors, representatives of the Prosecution Offices, and prosecutors from the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor. The meeting was also attended by the Chairperson of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Mr. Ardian Hajdaraj, and the Director General of the KPC Secretariat, Mr. Sami Istrefi.

The meeting focused on discussing important professional matters, with particular emphasis on: the handling and progress of criminal reports within legal deadlines – especially those involving unknown perpetrators, the engagement of state prosecutors in the destruction of confiscated narcotics in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, and the advancement in the use of the Case Information Management System (CMIS) by chief prosecutors and prosecutors.

In the spirit of this discussion, the Acting Chief State Prosecutor emphasized the importance of increasing efficiency and effectiveness in the work of the prosecution offices and called on all chief prosecutors to continue their efforts in fulfilling these institutional objectives.
