Prishtina, 5 May 2025 – The Acting State Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Besim Kelmendi, participated in the joint meeting organized by the Head of the Assets Recovery Office – Prosecutor at the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Bahri Hyseni – with officials delegated by law enforcement institutions to this Office. International partners who have supported the work of this Office since its establishment also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, participants discussed the work carried out by the Office thus far, as well as its cooperation throughout 2024 with the CARIN organization and several European Union countries, including Switzerland and Turkey.
On this occasion, the Acting State Chief Prosecutor, while highly commending the work done by the Assets Recovery Office since its operationalization, expressed his support and commitment to the Office with the aim of achieving shared successes. He also thanked the international partners for their support and assistance provided in various forms toward the establishment and operationalization of the Assets Recovery Office.
Furthermore, the meeting included discussions on the idea of drafting a concept document for the adoption of a law on the Assets Recovery Office—an initiative proposed by international partners. It was also agreed that, in order to identify cases where there is a legal basis for asset recovery, the Office’s officials will continue their visits to the Basic Prosecution Offices.
