The Standard Operating Procedures of the Office for Recovery of Assets are signed

Prishtina, July 24, 2024 – Acting Chief State Prosecutor Mr. Besim Kelmendi, in the presence of the Head of the Office for Recovery of Assets, State Prosecutor Mr. Bahri Hyseni, and representatives from law enforcement institutions such as the Kosovo Police, the Financial Intelligence Unit, the Agency for the Management of Confiscated and Seized Assets, the Tax Administration of Kosovo, and Kosovo Customs, have today signed the Standard Operating Procedures for the Office for Recovery of Assets, which operates within the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor.

On this occasion, Acting Chief State Prosecutor Mr. Besim Kelmendi emphasized that with the signing of these procedures, the legal infrastructure for the full functioning of the Office for Recovery of Assets is being completed. These procedures will serve all prosecutors in cases where asset recovery is applicable.

The Standard Operating Procedures outline the methods and procedures to be followed for the most efficient operation of the Office for Recovery of Assets, aiming to provide assistance and advice to state prosecutors as well as international partners in cases of asset recovery and cooperation both locally and internationally.

International partners from the US Embassy, the United Kingdom Embassy, the EU Office, and the UNDP Office in Kosovo also participated in the signing ceremony.
