Mitrovica, March 20, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica – General Department has submitted a motion to the Basic Court in Mitrovica for the imposition of detention on remand for eight (8) individuals arrested on March 19 in Mitrovica during an operation conducted across a total of 21 locations in the Mitrovica region. The operation resulted in the seizure of nine firearms, 200 rounds of ammunition, various munitions, 15 mobile phones, two pairs of handcuffs, a knife, firearm barrels, firearm holsters, and one DVR.
A motion for the imposition of detention on remand has been filed against the defendants B.H., I.P., and O.B. on suspicion that, in co-perpetration, they committed the criminal offenses of “Coercion” under Article 328, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 31 of the CCRK, as well as “Unauthorized Import, Export, Supply, Transport, Production, Exchange, Mediation, or Sale of Weapons or Explosive Materials” under Article 364, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 31 of the CCRK.
For the defendants A.S., T.R., A.B., Sh.S., and N.R., a motion for the imposition of detention on remand has been filed on suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of “Unauthorized Import, Export, Supply, Transport, Production, Exchange, Mediation, or Sale of Weapons or Explosive Materials” under Article 364, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 31 of the CCRK.
The hearing for the imposition of detention on remand for the eight accused individuals will take place today, on March 20, 2025.
