Mitrovica, February 14, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, Serious Crimes Department, has submitted a motion for the imposition of detention on remand against the defendants H.I. and B.I., as there is a well-founded suspicion that, in co-perpetration, they committed the criminal offenses of “Aggravated Murder” under Article 173, paragraph 1, subparagraph 1.5, in conjunction with Article 31, and “Unauthorized Ownership, Control, or Possession of Weapons” under Article 366, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 31 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
On February 12, 2025, in a venue located at “Adem Jashari” Square in Skenderaj, the defendants, acting together and fully aware of their actions, deliberately deprived the now-deceased I.I. of life. Specifically, while the victim was having coffee at the venue, the defendants entered, drew their firearms, and fired at I.I., with the shots proving fatal.
The defendants have been held in custody by decision of the state prosecutor since February 12, 2025.
The hearing for the imposition of detention on remand is expected to take place at the Basic Court in Mitrovica.
