Gjilan, August 16, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution in Gjilan held a working meeting today with psychologists from the Gjilan region. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Prosecutor Mr. Isuf Sadiku and prosecutors from this prosecution office, and was organized by Ms. Rozelida Manastiri, Head of the General Department and Coordinator for Domestic Violence Cases.
The meeting also included police investigators and the Head of the Victims’ Protection Office for the Gjilan region. The primary objective was to ensure the adequate treatment of victims of psychological violence.
Initially, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor and the Head of the General Department thanked the participants for their ongoing cooperation. They emphasized the importance of involving psychologists as experts in cases involving psychological violence, both in domestic violence situations and in other cases requiring psychological expertise, to provide necessary psychological support to victims.
During the meeting, it was concluded that for specific cases, particularly those involving domestic violence as a result of psychological abuse, psychologists should be present during the interviewing of victims at the police station. The psychologists expressed their willingness to collaborate with the police, the Victims’ Protection Office, and the prosecutors of this prosecution office.
