Gjilan, March 27, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Gjilan, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police – Human Trafficking Investigation Unit, has arrested a suspect, M.M., through the implementation of covert investigative measures, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Enabling or Forcing Prostitution,” as stipulated under Article 234 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
It is suspected that M.M., with the intent of financial gain, used his profession as a taxi driver to facilitate prostitution. He allegedly arranged meetings between young women and various individuals for sexual services in exchange for money. As part of a covert operation, he reportedly transported two women, aged 22 and 23, from Prishtina to Gjilan, where he collected a total of €520 for their services.
Based on these actions, he is suspected of committing the aforementioned offense and, by order of the State Prosecutor, has been placed under 48-hour detention.
