Gjilan, February 14, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Gjilan, Serious Crimes Department, has filed an indictment against the defendants A.I. and E.D., as they are accused of committing the criminal offense of “Robbery” under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo in co-perpetration.
According to the indictment, on January 18, 2025, in Gjilan, with the intent of obtaining unlawful material gain, the defendants A.I. and E.D., using force or serious threats and armed with a dangerous tool—a hatchet and a knife—committed robbery against the injured party A.A.. The defendants initially called the victim to meet them, entered his vehicle, and demanded that he drive toward the apartment complex parking lot. When the victim refused, A.I., under the threat of a hatchet, and E.D., under the threat of a knife, forcibly removed a gold chain from the victim’s neck, attempted to take his bracelet, and also took a wristwatch from inside the vehicle before exiting and fleeing the scene.
The defendants have been held in detention on remand since January 19, 2025, as per the request of the Basic Prosecution in Gjilan.
