Gjilan, August 15, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution in Gjilan has requested the imposition of detention on remand from the Basic Court in Gjilan against the defendant S.J., on the grounds of suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of “Cultivation of the Cannabis Plant, Coca Bush, or Cannabis Plants” and “Unauthorized Possession of Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances, or Analogues” under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
According to the request, there is a well-founded suspicion that on August 14, 2024, in the municipality of Kamenica, the defendant S.J., intentionally, without authorization, and with the purpose of producing narcotics, cultivated the cannabis plant. During the execution of a search warrant by police officers, 8 plants of the type “Cannabis Sativa,” ranging in height from 45 cm to 1.30 m, were found in four plastic pots in the yard of his house.
Additionally, the defendant was found in possession of a narcotic substance, specifically “Marijuana,” weighing 1.00 g, which has been seized.
Through these actions, he is suspected of having committed the aforementioned criminal offenses.
