Gjilan, August 15, 2024 – The Domestic Violence Coordinator from the Basic Prosecution in Gjilan, Ms. Rozelida Manastiri, hosted a monitoring meeting with representatives from EULEX regarding domestic violence.
Also present at the meeting was Ms. Leonora Kadriu, a prosecutor from the Serious Crimes Department, who previously served as the coordinator for these cases.
The meeting began with the presentation of work reports for the first half of 2024, emphasizing that in such cases, the prosecutors of this prosecution take all necessary measures to prioritize the handling of domestic violence cases and respond urgently.
Additionally, the challenges faced by the prosecutors in dealing with domestic violence cases were discussed, and the EULEX monitors were informed that in all cases where there is a legal basis, suspects of domestic violence are detained, and measures are requested for their detention on remand.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the EULEX monitors thanked the prosecutors from the Basic Prosecution in Gjilan for their willingness to meet and their open communication.
