Prizren Prosecution Office Seeks Detention on Remand for Defendants Caught with Over 12 Kilograms of Narcotics

Prizren, March 8, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Prizren, Serious Crimes Department, informs the public that it has requested the Basic Court in Prizren to impose a 30-day detention on remand against two (2) suspects, N.I. and E.M., on reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of “Unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution, and sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and analogs” under Article 267, paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 275, paragraph 1, point 1.9, and Article 31, as well as the defendant N.I. for the additional offense of “Unauthorized ownership, control, or possession of weapons” under Article 366, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (CCRK).

 

According to the motion, on February 28, 2025, the first defendant, N.I., without authorization, sold, transported, delivered, and transited substances legally classified as narcotics, intending to sell them. Following a prior agreement with an individual named “T.” regarding the sale of narcotics, N.I. met him near the village of Landovicë, Prizren Municipality, where he sold a quantity of marijuana weighing 1,019.66 grams, placed in a black plastic bag, in exchange for €2,400.00. With these actions, he committed the offense of “Unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution, and sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and analogs” under the CCRK.

 

Additionally, on March 7, 2025, at approximately 21:30, the defendants N.I. and E.M., acting in co-perpetration, without authorization, sold, transported, delivered, and transited substances legally classified as narcotics. Following a prior phone agreement with person named “T.,” the first defendant, N.I., arrived in his Audi vehicle and met with “T.” and “E.” in the parking lot of the “K.P.” gas station. After verifying the money, he called the third defendant, H.H. (currently at large), who shortly afterward arrived near the parking lot of the former hotel “V.” in a VW Bora vehicle, accompanied by E.M. Both exited the vehicle and handed over a blue plastic bag containing 11 aluminum-wrapped packages of suspected marijuana, weighing a total of 10,510.36 grams (10.5 kg) with an estimated value of €25,000. At that moment, law enforcement officers intervened, arresting the first and second defendants, while the third defendant, H.H., managed to flee and remains at large.

During a subsequent search of N.I.’s residence and accompanying premises, authorities discovered and seized an additional quantity of suspected marijuana weighing 1,218.00 grams (1.2 kg), two scales used for weighing narcotics, and €3,965.00 in cash, suspected to have been obtained from criminal activity.

 

With these actions, the aforementioned defendants, in co-perpetration, committed the criminal offense of “Unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution, and sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and analogs” under the CCRK.

 

Additionally, the first defendant, N.I., unlawfully possessed a firearm without authorization, in violation of the applicable weapons law. Upon his arrest, he was found in possession of a 7.62mm caliber pistol with a magazine containing eight (8) bullets. A subsequent search of his residence led to the discovery of four (4) additional bullets and a firearm cleaning kit. With these actions, he committed the offense of “Unauthorized ownership, control, or possession of weapons” under the CCRK.

 

The defendants N.I. and E.M. are currently in 48-hour detention as of March 7, 2025, for the aforementioned offenses.
