Prizren, February 11, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Prizren, Serious Crimes Department, has filed an indictment against the defendant Q.K., on well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “Smuggling of Migrants” under Article 164, paragraph 1, of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (CCRK).
According to the indictment, on December 10, 2024, at 22:25, in the village of Vërmicë, Municipality of Prizren, specifically at the exit from the “Ibrahim Rugova” highway towards the village of Vërmicë, the defendant engaged in migrant smuggling. While driving his vehicle, he was stopped by the Border Police and was found transporting four (4) migrants (Bangladeshi nationals). The defendant had agreed to transport them to Gjilan in exchange for a payment of €150 (one hundred and fifty euros), despite being fully aware that they had entered the territory of Kosovo illegally.
When filing the indictment, the case prosecutor proposed to the court that, following the court trial, administration of evidence, and its evaluation, the aforementioned defendant be found guilty of the criminal offense for which he is charged and be sentenced in accordance with the law.
