Gjakova, April 07, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova, General Department, informs the public that against the defendants with the initials B.R., N.V., P.K., M.S., of Serbian nationality, it has taken a decision to initiate investigations and has filed a request, at the Basic Court in Gjakova, for the imposition of a 30-day detention in remand.
According to the Prosecution’s request, among other things, it is stated that there is a well-founded suspicion that the defendants with the initials B.R., N.V., P.K., M.S., of Serbian nationality, on 05.04.2025, on Rr. “Gasper Karaqi” in Gjakova, the defendants in co-perpetration and acting in violation of the Law on Weapons No. 05/L-022, article 2 point 1.24, possess cold weapons, namely one (1) axe, one (1) knife with sheath, and one (1) saw knife, in such a way that after being stopped by police officers because the same vehicle, a gray Toyota, driven by the defendant B.R., had exceeded the speed limit in the speed limit zone and after the driver of the vehicle during the regular proceedings was asked by police officers whether he possessed anything illegal in the vehicle, the same responded that he did not have anything illegal with him, where he had also expressed the desire to search the vehicle and after a search of the vehicle by police officers, the sharp tools mentioned above were found, which the defendants had kept during an organized visit to some of the Orthodox Monasteries in the Republic of Kosovo.
These actions create a reasonable suspicion that the defendants with the initials B.R., N.V., P.K., and M.S. have committed the criminal offense of Unauthorized Ownership, Control or Possession of Weapons under Article 366, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 31 of the Criminal Code.
