Basic Prosecution in Gjakovë Holds Meeting as Part of the National Strategy against Human Trafficking in Kosovo 2022-2026

Gjakovë, March 27, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Gjakovë, within the framework of the National Strategy Against Human Trafficking in Kosovo 2022-2026, held a meeting today with relevant stakeholders involved in handling cases of human trafficking and criminal offenses against sexual integrity. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and coordination.

Participants were welcomed by the Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Enis Gashi, alongside the coordinating prosecutor for human trafficking offenses, Mr. Anton Hasanaj, and the coordinating prosecutor for criminal offenses against sexual integrity, Mr. Sadri Alija.

During the meeting, representatives from various institutions, including the Kosovo Police, the Office for Victim Protection and Assistance, the Center for Social Work, the Mental Health Center, the Safe House, and the NGO “Active Women of Gjakovë,” discussed the implementation of the National Strategy against Human Trafficking in Kosovo 2022-2026. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between these institutions in undertaking concrete measures and actions to identify challenges, improve prevention efforts, and effectively combat human trafficking and offenses against sexual integrity.

The Basic Prosecution in Gjakovë remains committed to strengthening cooperation and joint engagement in the fight against these negative phenomena, ensuring the necessary protection and assistance for victims.
