Detention on Remand Requested for Drug Trafficking

Ferizaj, August 22, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj, Serious Crimes Department, informs the public that it has requested from the Basic Court in Ferizaj the imposition of a 30-day detention on remand against the suspect F.K., due to suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Unauthorized Purchase, Possession, Distribution, and Sale of Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances, and Analogues” according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to the Prosecution, there is a well-founded suspicion that on 21.08.2024, at around 06:50, on “Vëllezërit Gërvalla” street in Ferizaj, the suspect was in unauthorized possession of narcotic substances, suspected to be cocaine, with the intent to sell and distribute them. During a police search of a “Nissan Navara” vehicle with Swedish license plates, a cigarette pack labeled “Winston” was found on the left side of the back seat. Inside the pack, there was a blue plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, suspected to be cocaine, with a total weight of 38.62 grams, which was seized by the police. This act constitutes the criminal offense of “Unauthorized Purchase, Possession, Distribution, and Sale of Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances, or Analogues” under Article 267, Paragraph 1 of the CCRK.

The defendant has been under a 48-hour detention based on the order issued by the State Prosecutor since August 21, 2024, for the aforementioned criminal offense.
