Prishtina, June 7, 2024 – The Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo has filed, today, an indictment with the Special Department of the Basic Court in Prishtina, against the defendant M.P., Serbian nationality, a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo and also of Serbia, due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense “War crime against the civilian population”, sanctioned by Article 142 in relation to Article 22 of the Criminal Law of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (hereinafter “CC-SFRY”) as the law in force at the time of the commission criminal offense .
The defendant is accused that during the time of the war in Kosovo, around September 1, 1998, in the vicinity of the neighborhood “Hoqa Mahall”, in Prizren, he participated in the killing of the victims Reshat Dacaj , Binak Daçaj , Fatmir Bojaxhiu.
This criminal matter case has already been handed over to the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina for further proceedings, while the defendant is under detention until a new decision by the Court.
