Pristina, October 30, 2024– The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo expresses deep indignation at the continued unproductive approach of the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, to the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Special Prosecution strongly denies the statement of the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, made today, stating that “it is worried after the Special Prosecution has closed the investigations into the case of the million-dollar property in Veternik”.
The Special Prosecution informs the public that the case for which the minister in question has declared, has not been investigated and has never been at work in the Special Prosecution, therefore such a statement by Minister Haxhiu is untrue and tendentious.
The Special Prosecution considers such untrue statements, unfortunately by the Minister of Justice, to be deliberate and tendentious in the direction of the Special Prosecution and the successful work of its leader, assessing that these incorrect statements, among other things, are aimed at disinformation of public, obstructing work and damaging the image of this prosecution.
Based on the fact that it is not the first time that we are faced with such attacks and untrue statements by Minister Haxhiu, the Special Prosecution calls on the Minister of Justice and all other persons who aim to hinder this prosecution in fulfilling its mandate , to refrain from such untrue, tendentious and malicious statements.
Moreover, the Special Prosecution assures the public that such actions of the Minister of Justice and anyone else, at no time and under any circumstances, will not affect that this prosecution exercises its mandate in terms of fighting criminality and pursuing the perpetrators of criminal offences, regardless of who they are.
