Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution, Mr. Blerim Isufaj, hosted high officials of the German state in a meeting

Prishtinë, July 17, 2024 – Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Blerim Isufaj, accompanied by his deputy Mr. Valdet Gashi, hodted  in the  meeting a delegation of the German state, headed by the German Secretary of State, Mr. Bernd Kroesser. In this meeting were also present

Director of the Headquarters for International and European Affairs at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Michael Niemeier, Mr. Florian Bathe from the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mr. Thomas Lubnau, Liaison Officer of the Federal Criminal Police Office, Mr. Stefan Dorbach, Liaison Officer of the Federal Police, as well as from Mr. Christian Böttcher, from the German Embassy in Prishtinë.

First, Chief Prosecutor Isufaj thanked the German delegation for the visit, stressing that their presence in this institution is confirmation of special support for the Special Prosecution and support to fight organized crime. Also, Chief Prosecutor Isufaj expressed his gratitude for the cooperation so far and for the commitment shown by the German officials in the service of the rule of law in Kosovo.

Further, Chief Prosecutor Isufaj informed the German delegation about the organization and strategic planning related to the powers of this prosecution, in which case he emphasized the importance of cooperation in combating irregular migration, combating the crime of smuggling and addressed the difficulties related to international legal cooperation in the criminal field on the way forward towards consolidating the rule of law.

On the other hand, the German Secretary of State, Mr. Bernd Krösser, thanked Chief Prosecutor Isufaj for the hospitality, underlining the continuation of cooperation and providing the necessary support for the Special Prosecution.

Both interlocutors, Mr. Isufaj and Mr. Krösser, agreed that the mutual cooperation should continue and intensify even further, in order to respect the principles and values ​​of independence, professionalism and professional ethics of the Special Prosecution and in order that the work results to be achieved as defined by the Constitution and laws in force.
