Indictment against two defendants who practiced unlawful medical activity at the annex adjacent to Center Police Station facility in Prishtina

Prishtina, June 3, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, announces to the public that the State Prosecutor, after conducting investigations, has filed an indictment against N.P. and E.I., due to the criminal offenses “Unlawful exercise of medical or pharmaceutical activity” and “Production and distribution of harmful medical products”, according to the CCRK.

According to the indictment, the defendants from an unspecified date, continuously until January 31, 2024, on “Luan Haradinaj” street in Prishtina, more precisely at the building (annex) adjacent to the Central Police Station in Prishtina, with the aim of gaining unlawful economic benefit, posing as a member of an NGO and as a doctor, have provided medical services and treatments to the citizens of Kosovo, without being licensed and authorized by the relevant institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, and for which services have received regular monthly payments from the Serbian state authorities, in the amount of up to 1,700.00 euros.

Also, on the same date, time and place, after the implementation of the search order by the Kosovo Police, the aforementioned defendants were found in possession of herbs and medical products without Republic of Kosovo banners and without origin, being served the citizens of Kosovo, without the necessary checks by the authorized person or institution, which have endangered the lives and health of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

The State Prosecutor has proposed to the court that the defendants be declared guilty and punished according to the law for the criminal offenses they are charged with, as well as proposed that the drugs and medical products be confiscated and disposed of according to the aforementioned legal procedure.
