Prishtina, August 2, 2024 – The Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina informs the public that on July 31, 2024, the duty prosecutor was notified by the police about a case of domestic violence in Graçanica.
This case was initially categorized as “Domestic Violence” and “Serious Bodily Injury,” for which the Prosecution issued a detention order for the suspect, lasting 48 hours. While the suspect was under this measure, the victim (deceased) passed away, and the case has since been transferred for handling to the Serious Crimes Department of this Prosecution Office and reclassified as “Aggravated Murder” according to the CCRK.
The State Prosecutor has issued an order for an autopsy of the deceased and has also submitted a request for the imposition of detention on remand for the suspect to the competent court.
In full coordination with the police and relevant units, investigative actions are being undertaken regarding this case.
