The Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina held a press conference regarding the “Albkings” case

Prishtina, May 30, 2024– The Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina, today, held a press conference, through which the results of the investigation of the case known in the public as “Albkings” were disclosed. At the conference, the Chief Prosecutor of this prosecution, Zejnullah Gashi, and the prosecutor of the case, as well as the Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Elza Bajrami Kastrati, were present.

As a result of the close cooperation with the Kosovo Police-Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in Prishtina and with the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, seven (7) persons suspected of being involved in this criminal case have been identified and arrested, of them three (3) administrators of this group, who are under the measure of detention and are suspected of having committed the criminal offense “Theft of identity and credentials” under Article 277/H of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

Also, at this conference, it was announced that the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina is continuing to investigate this case in several other leads of investigation, which will be announced at a later stage, and an appeal was made again to all the injured persons in this case that they should appear either at the police station or at the prosecutor’s office for cooperation, so that the criminal phenomena can be successfully fought and the incriminating actions of each defendant can be convincingly proven.

Also, in this conference, it was announced that in close cooperation with the Cybercrime Investigation Directorate of the Kosovo Police, this group has been closed, despite the fact that since the first deletion, it has been reopened two more times. .

In conclusion, it has been emphasized the role of the State Prosecutor in the function of implementing the law and protecting citizens, so that every perpetrator of criminal offenses will face the legal consequences for his/her illegal actions.
