The workshop is held to finalize the draft of the Regulation for the Election of the Chief State Prosecutor and Chief Prosecutors of Prosecutions

Prishtinë, 28 August 2024 – The Commission for Normative Issues, chaired by Armend Zenelaj, together with the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, members of the Prosecutorial Council, Acting Chief State Prosecutor, chief prosecutors of prosecutions, prosecutors of the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, prosecutors of the country’s prosecutions, the General Director of KPC Secretariat and the representative of the American Embassy in Pristina, are holding a two-day workshop in Tirana.

The purpose of this workshop is to finalize the draft Regulation for the Election of the Chief State Prosecutor and Chief Prosecutors and Leaders of the Prosecution Departments of the Republic of Kosovo.

From the beginning, the Chairman of the Prosecution Council of Kosovo, Ardian Hajdaraj, and the Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, emphasized the great importance of this regulation, the draft of which was drawn up in accordance with high legal standards.

Also, other participants of this workshop underlined during their discussions that this normative act will contribute to increasing the transparency and integrity of the process of electing the Chief State Prosecutor, chief prosecutors and leaders of the country’s prosecution departments, by making it more reliable and understandable for all parties involved.

The draft of this regulation has been published for public hearing on the official website of the prosecutorial system and after its finalization in this workshop it will be processed for approval in one of the next meetings of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
