Prishtinë, 11 March 2022 – The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) announces the public opinion that the Ministry of Justice has forwarded to the Government the Draft Law on the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council without receiving the official opinion of the Venice Commission, which on its official website announced that on March 18-19 2022 will hold the session to address this issue.
Therefore, once again, we express our concern that the rapid processing of this draft law, without sharing the final draft with the actors of this process and without waiting for the official document from the Venice Commission, as agreed at the last meeting of the Working Group of the Ministry of Justice, where the representatives of the prosecutorial system also participated, is against the spirit of cooperation and mutual coordination and is a tendency to violate the independence and regulation of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
