Chairman Maloku meets with the delegation of the Venice Commission

Prishtinë, 9 February 2022 The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Jetish Maloku, and the Chairman of the KJC, Albert Zogaj, as well as the Prosecutor in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, Bahri Hyseni, participated in the meeting with the delegation of rapporteurs of the Venice Commission vetting in Kosovo, Mr. Pere Vilanova, z. Cesare Pinelli and Mrs. Grainne McMorrow.

Consequently, in this meeting, there were fruitful discussions on the draft Concept Paper for the development of the vetting process in the justice system.

Also, the Chairman of the Prosecutorial Council, Jetish Maloku, informed the delegation about the position of the prosecutorial system on the vetting process, in which case he said that the KPC and the Kosovo prosecutorial system remain committed to work towards full implementation of the Rule of Law Strategy, which preserves institutional independence and aims to advance the strengthening of the rule of law.

There were also bilateral questions and answers, which were addressed by the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission for the concept paper and by other representatives.
