Reaction of KPC and OCSP to the threats against the acting Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Prizren, Mr. Petrit Kryeziu and security bodies

Prishtinë,  11 October 2024 – The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) and the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor (ZKPSH), strongly condemn another threat that was made today through social networks to the acting Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Prizren, Mr. Petrit Kryeziu and to the security bodies. This threat also came because of the official work performed by these bodies, including Mr. He presided in the capacity of Acting Chief Prosecutor of this prosecution.

KPC and OCSP declare that these threats are also directed at the Kosovo Police and prosecution bodies and contain colors and names of individuals and criminal organizations and it seems clear that their purpose is to interfere in the affairs of the State Prosecutor and the bodies of the the security of the country.

KPC and OCSP also, on this occasion, let such individuals know that they strongly support Mr. Kryeziu and the security bodies, as well as fully support them in their work and mission for the pursuit and investigation of perpetrators of criminal offenses.

KPC and OCSP emphasize that they have taken the necessary legal steps and in cooperation with the Kosovo Police and other institutions are engaged in identifying and arresting the threats to the acting Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Prizren, Mr. Petrit Kryeziu and the representatives of the security bodies and will not stop until the full enlightenment of this case.

On this occasion, these independent and constitutional institutions underline for the second time today, that such threats will not repel the commitment, goals and unstoppable efforts to strengthen the rule of law in Kosovo.
