Pristina, 22 April 2025 – As part of the Council of Europe (CE) Project to support the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo in the implementation and dissemination of European human rights standards, the CE Office in Pristina organized today a roundtable on the execution of judgments and the right to a fair trial, in which the member of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Mr. Jetish Maloku, participated.
Participants in this roundtable were representatives of the EC Office in Pristina, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Ombudsman Institution and representatives of civil society, the purpose of which was to provide a platform for dialogue and exchange of experiences between representatives of the judicial, prosecutorial and civil society systems on the execution of court decisions of different jurisdictions and to address key issues and challenges in the future.
During his presentation as one of the keynote speakers, Mr. Jetish Maloku, emphasized that the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, as one of the main pillars of the justice system, is committed to supporting every effort that leads to the improvement of the mechanisms for the implementation of judgments. “A fair trial does not end with the announcement of a decision, but is fulfilled only when the decision is respected and implemented in practice, and this puts us in front of a deep reflection that should be the concluding element of every judicial process, namely the fair, full and timely implementation of judgments,” said Mr. Maloku to the participants of this roundtable.
Following the roundtable, discussions continued with contributions from other participants, focusing mainly on the execution of decisions from comparative perspectives and the execution of judgments of courts of all jurisdictions.
