The announcement of the competition for the Chief Prosecutor of the Appellate Prosecution and of the five basic prosecutions is approved

Prishtinë, 15 October 2024 – The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), led by Chairman Ardian Hajdaraj, held the 255th Meeting, in which it discussed the items on the agenda. The decisions that were taken at today’s meeting are as follows, in which case the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo:

  1. Approved the announcement of the Competition for the Chief Prosecutor of the Appellate Prosecution and the competition for five chief prosecutors of the basic prosecutions in: Prizren, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Mitrovica and Pejë, from October 21, 2024;
  2. Established two evaluation panels for the candidacies for Chief Prosecutor of the Appellate Prosecution and for chief prosecutors of five prosecutions;
  3. Approved the Regulation on the Transfer and Advancement of Administrative Staff in the Prosecution System with the proposals and changes made by the members of the Council during this meeting, this regulation, which came into force from today;
  4. Approved the Training Policy Document and Training Needs Plan for 2025;
  5. Appointed prosecutor Merita Bina Rugova to the position of Head of the Department for the Investigation of Organized Crime in the Special Prosecution for a four-year term;
  6. Approved the resignation of prosecutor Arianit Salihu from the position of Head of the General Department in the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina;
  7. Appointed prosecutor Besart Mustafa to the position of Head of the General Department in the Basic Prosecution in Pristina for a four-year term;
  8. Released the Head of the Department for Serious Crimes and the Head of the Department for Juveniles from the case load to the extent of 30 percent, and to the extent of 50 percent the Head of the General Department in the Basic Prosecution in Pristina until the issuance of the Administrative Instruction;
  9. Rejected the request of prosecutor Qazim Xharra for his reassignment to the Basic Prosecution in Prizren;
  10. Approved sending the proposal for the dismissal of prosecutor Dushko Manitashević to the President of the country due to reaching retirement age;
  11. Released until December 31, 2024 from the acceptance of cases to the extent of 50 percent the prosecutor of the Appellate Prosecution, Mrs. Nazan Shero, who is a member of the Commission for the Evaluation of the Performance of Prosecutors and
  12. Authorized Chairman Hajdaraj for signing the Cooperation Agreement between the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council and the Kosovo Judicial Council for the exchange of the plot, which is owned by the KJC at the Palace of Justice, with the KPC building in Building C at the Palace of Justice, which is being used by the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina.
