A meeting is held to analyze the activities and challenges in the fight against corruption and economic crimes

Prishtinë, 10 March 2023 – The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Jetish Maloku and the Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, together with a part of the members of the KPC, held a working meeting with the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Pristina, Kujtim Munishi and the prosecutors of the Unit for Corruption and Economic Crime within this prosecution.

The purpose of today's meeting was to analyze the activities and challenges in the fight against corruption and economic crimes throughout the year 2022, as well as to discuss the implementation of the Action Plan in the Fight against Corruption and Economic Crimes for the year 2022.

Consequently, in this meeting, the need for increased engagement in this direction was emphasized, in order to achieve the necessary results during the implementation of strategic plans and work plans, as well as to work on the matching of statistical data of PPRU with those of the Basic Prosecutor's Office of Prishtina and CMIS.

In this regard, the Chairman of the KPK, Jetish Maloku and the Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, have authorized the acting General Director of SKPC and the acting Director of the PPRU to establish a group to unify the statistical data in the country's prosecutions.

Also, the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Pristina, Kujtim Munishi, and the prosecutors present, emphasized the immediate need to increase the number of prosecutors in the Unit for Corruption and Economic Crimes and to complete and amend the Administrative Instruction for orientation norm.
