EXPLANATION FOR THE MEDIA BY THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
Prishtinë, 19 February 2022 – The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK), announces the public opinion that the news entitled "The suspect for 53 million, daily in the Ministry” and " inaccessible to the Prosecution ", published last night in the central news edition in KTV, is incorrect, for the fact that against the defendant B.T, the prosecution has filed an indictment on 18 February 2022, for the criminal offense "Abuse of official position or authority" under article 422 paragraph 1 in connection with article 31 of the CCRK, committed in co-perpetration with the defendants P.L, N.SH and E.B for whom an indictment was filed on 04 February 2022.
Based on the results of the investigation, the Special Prosecution on January 14, 2022, has expanded the investigation against the defendant B.T, due to the suspicion that in co-perpetration with the others, he has committed the criminal offense "Abuse of official position or authority" '' from article 422 par. 1 in connection with article 31 of the CCRK.
Following the expansion of the investigation, in order to interview the defendant B.T , the SPRK made legal efforts to secure his presence. Because the defendant avoided appearing at the prosecutor's office, as required by law, an arrest warrant was requested from the Court, to enable the interviewing.
Simultaneously on February 3, 2022, the investigations were suspended because the legal conditions were met.
With the elimination of the obstacles for which the investigation was suspended, the Prosecution interviewed the defendant B.T, and after estimating the evidence, the Special Prosecution, on 18 February 2022, has filed indictment against him and proposed to the competent Court to merging proceedings to the present case in order to proceed on with the case against all the defendants .
