Promoting the rights of victims of crime, an institutional priority
Prishtinë, 12 November 2021 – The Acting Director General of the Secretariat of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Valdrin Krasniqi, held a meeting with the Manager of the Office for Protection and Assistance to Victims, Basri Kastrati and the heads of the regional offices of Victim Advocates, a meeting which took place focus on discussing topics related to the work process and the challenges of victim advocates.
On this occasion, Acting General Director, Krasniqi, after appreciating the good work that the advocates of the victims are doing, expressed his readiness for their support in all areas where the legal competencies allow, while, on the other hand, he asked for greater commitment for promoting the rights of victims of crime.
Also, the Manager of the Office for Victim Protection and Assistance, Basri Kastrati, spoke about the work processes, challenges and needs of victim advocates in general, but also about the specific jobs and needs of certain regions.
At the end of this meeting it was decided that the Office for Protection and Assistance to Victims, in cooperation with the communication unit in the prosecutorial system to advance cooperation, in order to strengthen activities that promote the rights of victims of crime.
