Responding on time and fighting inaccurate news, focusing on training chief prosecutors, prosecutors and public communication officers
Peja, 30 November 2019- The timely response and combating of inaccurate news, as well as the reinforcement of the overall role of the State Prosecutor Office in public relations, were the focus of the two day training that brought together chief prosecutors, prosecutors, and public relation officials of the prosecutorial system in Kosovo. The training was also attended by the Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Bahri Hyseni, and the General Director of the KPC Secretariat, Lavdim Krasniqi.
This training was organized by “Internews Kosova” in cooperation with the Prosecutorial Council and the office of the Chief State Prosecutor in the framework of the Project “Support to Anti-Corruption Efforts in Kosovo SAEK2”, where the keynote speakers were Director of the “Internews Kosova”-, Faik Ispahiu, author and editor of “Justice in Kosovo”,Kreshnik Gashi and Board member of the Kosovo Press Council, Labinot Leposhtica.
The inevitable use of social networks, the practical implementation of the new Public Communications Service Regulation, the resolution and addressing of daily challenges were also discussed during the sessions of this training, while other topics of interest were the creation of a public communication plan and public appearances of prosecutors, simulation of public appearances, analysis and learning from mistakes.
Training participants agreed that in the future they would conduct further discussions on the need to change practices and develop capacities to identify additional public communication resources in the Prosecutorial Council and the office of the State Prosecutor.
