Clarification by the State Prosecutor
Prishtina, March 03, 2020 - Today, the Minister of European Integration, Mr. Blerim Reka among other things stated in the media, emphasized that “Out of 61 high-profile corruption cases none has been completed, then we should not be surprised why this process is lagging behind.”
Therefore, the State Prosecutor clarifies for the opinion that allegations of Minister of European Integration, Mr. Blerim Reka, are not correct, as so far, the Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo, cases have targeted 61 corruption and organized crime cases involving 459 persons.
We also inform the public that out of 61-targeted cases, 48 of them are with indictments, while 32 cases, for which indictments have filed, belong to a corrupt nature involving 229 different persons.
In addition, out of 61 total cases, 16 are with indictments against cases of organized crime, involving 155 persons.
Whereas, 14 cases were issued final ruling, 17 cases are adjudicated in the first instance, 17 cases are under judicial review, 8 cases are in the phase of investigation with 99 persons are involved, for 4 cases with 11 persons involved the investigations were terminated, as well as 1 case with suspended investigation involving 1 person.
