District Prosecution Office in Prishtina has filed indictment against former Ministers of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Astrit Haraqija and Valton Beqiri, since there are suspicions that both former Ministers have abused with official duty
Prishtina 20th of April 2012 / Today, District Prosecution Office in Prishtina has filed indictments against former Ministers of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Astrit Haraqija and Valton Beqiri, since there are suspicions that both former Ministers have abused with the official duty.
According to the indictment the defendant Astrit Haraqija, at the time when he was exercising the Minister’s function he has committed two criminal offenses of the abuse with official post or authorization, which offense is covered by article 339 related to paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo.
The first offense is related to illegal binding of the Contract with the Company “Concordia Pictures” in which case the defendant Haraqija by abusing the official post has exceeded the authorizations and thus he has damaged the budget of the Republic of Kosovo in amount from 188.000, 00 €. Whereas, second criminal offense has also to do with illegal binding of the contract with the company “Morina Films” in which case the defendant has again abused with the official post and thus exceeding the authorization and damaging the budget of the Republic of Kosovo in amount from 100.000,00€.
According to the indictment the defendant Valton Beqiri is charged for criminal offense of abuse with the official post which is covered by article 339 related to paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo. The defendant at the time when he was exercising the function of the Minister has abused with the official post by exceeding the authorization, even though he was aware that the contract that former Minister Haraqija has bound with the respective above mentioned company was illegal, he has bounded an annex contract with the Company “Morina Films” thus damaging the budget of the Republic of Kosovo in amount from 100.000,00 €.
With the same indictment for committing the criminal offense of fraud in official duty which is covered by the article 341 related to paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo, District Prosecution Office in Prishtina has charged the owners of the two above mentioned companies, defendants are Nehat Fejza and Armond Morina namely.
