Indictment for money counterfeit
Mitrovica, 26 July 2019 - The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica/Serious Crimes Department filed an indictment with the Basic Court in Mitrovica against the defendant L.H., suspected of having committed the criminal offense of “Money Counterfeit” under Article 296 paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Prosecution informs the public that the defendant L.H., on March 20, 2019 in Mitrovica was detected of having placed metallic coins in circulation, which although he knew they were counterfeited, used them to buy cigarettes in a kiosk and at a store. Following his detention, the Police also seized some metallic coins, which after the examination have resulted to be counterfeited.
The State Prosecutor has filed a request with the Basic Court in Mitrovica proposing to find the defendant guilty of the commission of the criminal offense and punish him according to the law.
