Three people are arrested for cultivation of opium poppy, coca bush or cannabis plants in the operation coded “Mali”
Ferizaj, July 07, 2022 - The Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj, the Department of Serious Crimes, in coordination with the Kosovo Police, namely the Directorate for the Investigation of Narcotics Trafficking, on 06.07.2022, has developed the coded operation "Mali", where, after several months of investigation, with an order issued by the Basic Court in Ferizaj, the search of houses, flats and accompanying buildings, in the villages of Ivajë-Kaçanik, was carried out, under the suspicion that in the same house the cultivation of narcotic plants of the type “Cannabis Sativa” has occurred.
During the search of the houses, twenty-six (26) nylon packages filled with a suspected narcotic substance of the marijuana type were found, with a total weight of 5 kg and 227.6 grams, and during this operation, three (3) suspected persons were arrested.
The suspects, by decision of the State Prosecutor, have been detained for a period of 48 hours, due to the suspicion that they have committed the criminal offenses “Cultivation of opium poppy, coca bush or cannabis plants” from article 272 paragraph 1 of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo and “Unauthorized possession, control or possession of weapons” from article 366 of the KPRK.
Also, during this operation, were seized:
- Cash - one hundred and sixty (160) euros,
- Mobile phones,
- One (1) Sigsauer type pistol,
- One (1) Golf 4 type car, black color
- Lights (reflectors),
- Aluminum foil, styrofoam, various fans,
- Water tank, water pump,
- Scissors, knives,
- Nylon bag for packaging,
- Security cameras, DVR, Laptop and bank cards,
- Various work tools, digital thermometers, digital scales.
The Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj, within the legal deadline, will submit an application before the Basic Court in Ferizaj to impose the measure of the detention on remand.
