Seven people suspected of smuggling of weapons detained
Ferizaj, March 25, 2021 - The Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj, informs the public opinion that in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, after a long investigative work, under the use of covert technical measures, has carried out the joint operation “Storm” to prevent the activities of various criminal offenses including “Smuggling of weapons” and other criminal activities, where in which case he arrested seven (7) suspects and the same were detained as ordered by the State Prosecutor for a period of 48 hours.
This police operation started today in the early morning hours and covered three regions of Kosovo with a total of 13 different locations, of which: Ferizaj (7) locations, Gjilan (2) locations and Prishtina (4) locations.
It is also worth mentioning that the Police during this extensive police operation has engaged about 230 police officers of different units, who have also been engaged in the search and raid of suspected locations, in which case as material evidence the following were seized:
- 3 hand grenade launchers (Troblon),
- 6 Grenade launcher loaders (Troblon),
- 1 hand grenade launcher (one-shot Zolja),
- 2 AK-47 long weapons,
- 1 hunting weapon,
- 6 Small arms - 100 ammunition,
- Boxes with ammunition of 7.62 mm caliber,
- 5 large crates with cartridge (AK-47) - 8250,
- 12 small crates with cartridge (AK-47) 180,
- 8 magazines (4 filled) - 120,
- Total 8550
- 1 tools for cleaning weapons,
- Parts of rifles –few buttstocks,
- 1-binoculars,
- 4-Vehicles,
- 1 Telephone,
- 2-Laptops,
- 2-USBs,
- 1 rod and
- 1 pair of handcuffs
The Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj, within the legal deadline, against them, will submit a request to impose detention on remand before the Competent Court in Ferizaj.
