The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council visits the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor

Prishtinë, 13 March 2024 - In the framework of the initiative to visit the prosecutor's offices of the country, the Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Mr. Ardian Hajdaraj, the deputy chairperson of KPC, Mrs. Jehona Grantolli and the General Director of the KPC Secretariat, Mr. Sami Istrefi, conducted an official visit to the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor where they were received by Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Besim Kelmendi.

Initially, Acting Chief State Prosecutor Kelmendi informed the attendees about the work of the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor in handling the cases that fall under the competence of this instance of the prosecution, the cooperation with international partners, the implementation of CMIS, as well as addressed the needs which has the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor in order to fulfill the constitutional and legal mandate.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the KPC and the holders of the functions of the Prosecutorial Council who accompanied him have notified the Acting Chief State Prosecutor regarding their objectives, such as the advancement of transparency in the prosecutorial system through the publication of decisions on disciplinary and evaluation cases of performance, the implementation of the Security Plan in all prosecutions, as well as for capital investment plans that will advance the work process in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor and other prosecutions.

In the end, the Chairman of KPC, Mr. Hajdaraj, deputy chairperson of KPC, Mrs. Grantolli and the General Director of the Secretariat have offered their institutional readiness to support the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor in achieving the objectives of the Work Plan for 2024.
