Representatives of the prosecutorial system participated in the workshop of the coordination group and working groups for justice reform

Prishtinë, 5 July 2023 – Within the framework of the implementation of the Joint Declaration of Commitment, the workshop of the Coordinating Group for Justice Reform and working groups was held, in which representatives of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), the Chief State Prosecutor's Office, the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), the international and civil society representatives participated.

The purpose of holding this workshop was to present the reports of six working groups with findings and recommendations regarding the improvement of efficiency, transparency and discipline in the judicial and prosecutorial system, the strengthening of internal mechanisms for verification and control of integrity, the advancement and strengthening of the status of judges and prosecutors, as well as strengthening the mechanisms for declaring assets for judges and prosecutors.

Also in focus was the treatment of the implementation of the obligations arising from the Joint Declaration of Commitment, which was signed by the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, the Ministry of Justice, the Kosovo Judicial Council and the Supreme Court.

On this occasion, the Chairman Jetish Maloku emphasized the commitment of the KPC to inter-institutional cooperation during the implementation of the reform in the justice sector in Kosovo, in order to successfully carry out the activities foreseen in this important process.
