ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO
Prishtinë, December 2, 2022 - The Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) informs the public that the person with the initials G.M, male, Kosovar of Serbian nationality, was arrested as a suspect for war crimes in Kosovo, specifically in the massacre of Dubrava in May of 1999.
The Special Prosecution Office announces that in the framework of the investigation into the murders and mistreatment of prisoners in Dubrava Prison, during the war in Kosovo, it has issued a Ruling to expand the investigation against the defendant G.M. due to the reasonable suspicion that he physically abused the prisoners in that prison and participated in the killing of a large number of prisoners during May 1999.
Following the request of the Special Prosecution, the pre-trial judge of the Special Department of the Basic Court in Prishtinë, the suspect has been detained for a duration of one month.
