The intensification of the cooperation of the State Prosecutor with the French justice institutions is discussed
Prishtinë, 2 December 2021 – The Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, together with the Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution, Blerim Isufaj and the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, Kujtim Munishi, received in a meeting the representative of the French National School of Magistrates and the representative of the French Embassy in Kosovo, Cécilia Maronnier.
Initially, Chief Prosecutor Lumezi informed the representatives of the French delegation about the work, challenges and efficiency of the State Prosecutor in handling criminal cases.
On the other hand, the holders of prosecutorial functions were notified by Mrs. Dubost, more closely the organizational structure, function and work of justice institutions in France, in which case the parties expressed mutual will and readiness to deepen inter-institutional cooperation, in particular with the National Financial Prosecutor's Office on investigating and combating high-level corruption, economic crimes and organized crime.
In this context, as a matter of strategic interest, it was emphasized the holding of specialized trainings for prosecutors, who deal with the investigation of cases of corruption and economic crimes in the French National School of Magistrates and the development of study visits between the respective institutions.
Also, an important part of the joint discussions were the exchange of experiences in the field of seizure and confiscation of assets and legal cooperation in the fight against terrorism and war crimes, with special emphasis on cooperation in the treatment of victims of crime.
Chief Prosecutor Lumezi thanked Mrs. Frédérique Dubost for the visit held in the justice institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, highly appreciating the assistance and support that the state of France is giving to the institution of the State Prosecutor.
In the end, the interlocutors assessed the meeting as very useful, productive and concrete for the deepening of inter-institutional cooperation.
