Indictment against a person for the production and distribution of harmful food items
Prishtinë, 1 November 2021– The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, General Department, has filed an indictment against the defendant Xh.G., due to the criminal offense "Production and distribution of harmful food items" from Article 261 paragraph 1 in According to the indictment, the defendant Xh.G., continuously, in Fushë Kosovë, exactly in the street "Hajrullah Zymi" near the primary school "Mihal Grameno", in order to illegally obtain property has put food products for sale knowing that they are harmful to human health in such a way that the same in his premises by the Sanitary Inspector of the Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) and the Kosovo Police, were found a quantity of 126 kg of meat products, without the necessary control documents from the competent person, without the document of origin, as well as without the date of production or expiration, while, on the same day, on 12.10.2021, around 20:00, in the yard of his house, in a well unsecured warehouse, a quantity of 50 kg of meat was found, also without a document of origin and date of production or expiration, which products after the analysis made by the AVU Laboratory have resulted positive with the content of bacteria Escherichia coli dghe Sallmonella spp, which with this has seriously endangered the health of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
With this, the defendant committed the criminal offense "Production and distribution of harmful food items", from Article 261 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 77 paragraph 1 of the CCRK.
By decision of the state prosecutor, the confiscated products were disposed of according to FVA procedures.
