The cooperation of the Kosovo prosecutorial system with EULEX is appreciated

Pristina, 23 April 2021 - The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Jetish Maloku, received in a meeting the Head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo EULEX, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, with whom he discussed activities of the prosecutorial system in strengthening the rule of law in Kosovo.

The Chairman of the KPC, Jetish Maloku, in this meeting presented the activities, plans and other commitments of the Kosovo prosecutorial system in the continuous increase of the efficiency of this system in the period of the current pandemic of Covid-19.

Chairman Maloku said that the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, through its mandated policies, is continuously engaged in building the professional capacity of the prosecutorial system in order to strengthen the rule of law.

EULEX chief Wigemark said the institution he leads is committed to supporting Kosovo's prosecutorial system through advice and recommendations to strengthen it.

At the same meeting was also discussed how to strengthen the effectiveness, transparency and accountability of the prosecutorial system and the possibility of EULEX assistance in this regard.

At the end of the meeting, the two interlocutors assessed that inter-institutional cooperation is very important, therefore they express their readiness to continue and deepen cooperation.
