The Chairman of the KPC was received in a meeting by Acting president

Prishtina, 26 January 2021 - The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Jetish Maloku, was received in a meeting by the Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.

Acting President Osmani initially congratulated Chairman Maloku on his new position as Chairman of the Council, wishing him luck and success in the task he has taken.

During this meeting, Acting President Osmani and Chairman Maloku discussed the security situation in the country, the challenges faced by the prosecutorial system and the processes of appointment, reappointment and decrees of new prosecutors, agreeing that these processes should be conducted with high integrity.

Meanwhile, Chairman Maloku, has informed the Acting President Osmani, that his priority is to increase public confidence in the prosecutorial system, reduce the number of old cases, increase the number of prosecutors, improve the infrastructure, complete the legal framework for all work processes, regular performance appraisal and timely disciplinary cases.

Also, Chairman Maloku, emphasized that his goal is to continue cooperation with local and international institutions, in order to achieve the objectives of the prosecutorial system.

At the end of the meeting, the two interlocutors expressed mutual readiness to advance inter-institutional cooperation, in order to consolidate institutions and strengthen the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo.
