The implementation of the Case Management Information System (SMIL) is discussed in the prosecution and the court

Pristina, 2 July 2019 - The chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), Bahri Hyseni, hosted in a meeting the foreign expert, engaged by Norway's judicial administration for the ICT-SMIL project, Amra Jasarević. This meeting was attended by the Chair of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), as well as the members of both councils.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation process of the TIK-SMIL Project and the achievement of  the set objectives, then remove the manual records from the work of all prosecutions and courts of the country, as well as the registration of old cases in the Case Management Information System (SMIL).

The chairman of the Prosecutorial Council, Bahri Hyseni, emphasized that the TIK-SMIL Project has advanced its daily work by providing timely and accurate services for many important segments, such as, different statistics data. 

In this case, it was also discussed about the organization of bilateral conferences in the region with the aim of identifying good practices for assessing the performance of prosecutors and judges, which would impact on the empowerment of a stable prosecutorial and judicial system through a clear appraisal framework.

TIK-SMIL is a joint project of the Prosecutorial Council and Judicial Council, funded by the Government of Norway, while the main aim of its introduction is the increase of efficiency, transparency, accountability and credibility, whereby prosecutors and courts will be much more efficient in procedures and deadlines for solving cases.
