Chairman Hyseni hosted in the meeting the experts of the TAIEX assessment mission
Pristina, 5 November 2019 - Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Bahri Hyseni, accompanied by Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo, Afrim Shefkiu, hosted a delegation of the Assessment Mission of Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) of European Commission.
The purpose of this meeting was to identify the results achieved, address sectoral policies and overall assessment of the functioning of the institutional capacity of the prosecutorial system in combating high-level corruption, organized crime and terrorism.
Consequently, Chairman Hyseni informed the participants about the organization, role, powers and tasks that the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council is doing, and the acting SPRK Chief Prosecutor, Shefkiu, responded to the European Commission delegation the interest in the difficulties and challenges of the Special Prosecution, with particular emphasis on the use and application of certain legal criteria related to the prosecution of cases and the responsibility of prosecutors.
The Chairman of the Prosecutorial Council, Bahri Hyseni, expressed special gratitude for the European Union's contribution to the Kosovo prosecutorial system, stressing that they are constantly working to overcome challenges, build and strengthen capacities to have efficient work, accountability and transparency.
