Hyseni: Implementation of disciplinary measures has shown remarkable results
Pristina, November 18, 2019 - The Chairman of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Mr. Bahri Hyseni, said that the implementation of various disciplinary measures by the Council has achieved significant results in the last year, as evidenced in all published reports.
“There are challenges related to the completion of the necessary professional and administrative framework, which require greater financial support to realize and implement the real objectives of the prosecutorial system” Chairman Hyseni made these comments at a roundtable discussion organized by the Organization for Democracy, Anticorruption and Dignity “Çohu!”, where the findings of the Monitoring Report of Basic Courts and Prosecution Offices for the period October 2018 - September 2019 were presented.
Meanwhile, Chairman Hyseni spoke about the steps taken to overcome the difficulties faced by the institutions of the prosecutorial system with regard to the progress of investigations, the progress of the representation of indictments in court proceedings, the respect of human rights, the access of citizens to justice, and respect for legal and procedural deadlines, which are treated as findings of this organization's two-year monitoring.
The roundtable participants agreed to increase the commitment to implement the recommendations of this report on access to justice, dealing with the profiling of prosecutors and judges, increasing the number of professional associates in prosecutors and courts, increasing the number of professional translators in the Serbian language and vice versa, addressing problems in the Tracking Mechanism for characteristic offences of the Prosecutorial Council and other challenging issues of the prosecutorial and judicial system.
